Meet Mark

Mark Mazon partners with community organizations providing services in diverse communities. As a strategic partner, he serves executives and organizations looking to make impact through the utilization of talent. His focus is on recruiting high performing talent, developing leadership and executing strategy.

In 2016, Mark founded Talent for the Game to specialize on coaching and recruiting talent. In 2018, he created The Mazon Group to serve organizations in partnership with a consortium of talented professionals. This consortium consists of experienced community impact leaders who bring high-level expertise to the partnership.

Mark enjoyed a successful 30 year career in various leadership positions with the City of Phoenix and State of Arizona. His management experience included oversight in the areas of Municipal Court Administration, Human Services Administration, Health Services, Human Resources, Budget, Finance, Information Technology, Audit Compliance, Government Relations and Community Relations.

Mark’s nonprofit experience includes serving as President & CEO of Friendly House, Inc., one of the longest standing nonprofit organizations in Arizona. In this role, he oversaw programs related to workforce development, charter school education, family and immigration services, adult education and career readiness.

He has several years experience serving on nonprofit boards in the Phoenix metropolitan area. His experience includes serving as Chairman of the Board for Valle del Sol, Inc., Chair of the YMCA Hispanic Advisory Committee, Arizona State University President’s Community Advisory Council, Glendale Community College President’s Advisory Council, Phoenix Community College President’s Advisory Council and the Arizona Theatre Company Board of Trustees.

Mark holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University. He also earned a Certificate for Executive Leadership from Cornell University and a Certificate of Nonprofit Board Consulting from BoardSource. In addition, he is a Certified Professional Coach through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching.
